General Rules
Every week, a pool of experts and statistics will analize all the matches and determine odds and payouts. This table will show an example:
| AWAY TEAM | AWAY PAYOFF | HOME TEAM | HOME PAYOFF | SPREAD | TOTAL |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sullust Cavers | 1.36 | Lanthrym Nomads | 4.92 | 8 | 62 |
- A team that is indicated as losing 100% could win and the other way round... this are smart guesses, but far from perfect!
- All spread and total bets have a fixed payoff rate: 1.40
- Payoffs for winning team range from 1.07 (99% win) to 7.00 (1% win)
- Payoffs are not linear
- Every sentient being may bet 10 (ten) millions maximum on every single event (event examples: Sullust Cavers winning; Lanthrym Nomads Winning; Game Spread Up; etc)
- There is a bet cap of 50 (fifty) millions for every event. This means that on a single match the total cumulative bets cannot exceed 300 (three hundred) millions (for example, 50 on away winning; 50 on home winning; 50 on spread up; etc)
- Bets are considered on a "first come first served" basis using the SWC credit transaction.
- In case there are already 45 millions on an event (for example) and someone places a bet of 10 millions (thus the total is 55 millions, 5 millions more than the cap), only the amount under the cap will be considered as regular bet (5Mil on this example).
- Bets over the cap will be refunded.
Bet on team winning
Away and Home payoffs represent the amount of credits you'll receive if you bet on a certain team winning the match, and the team actually wins.
The math is quite simple:
Bet * payoff = win
Let's say you have bet 200,000 credits on the Cavers winning. The match ends 48-13. You won the bet, so you'll receive
200,000 * 1.36 = 272,000 credits
Your net income is 72,000 credits.
In case you bet on Nomads and they win, using this example will give you:
200,000 * 4.92 = 984,000 credits
net income is almost four times your bet: 784,000 credits! Not bad at all...
In case you bet on a team and the team lose, you simply lose all the credits you bet.
The bet is lost in two more cases:
- If the final score is a draw
- If the team(s) forfeits the match.
The latter is to prevent any possible rigging of a match, or that people take advantage of unmanaged teams to place bets that are likely to be won, despite the odds given.
Bet using spread and total
Our pool of experts will determine the most probable outcome for every match; including the spread points between the two teams and the total amount of points on the match.
Using the previous example, we have a forecasted spread of 8 and a total of 62 points.
You could bet if the spread between the teams would be more (up) or less (down) than the expected spread; and the same for total.
Using above example, let's say I have bet 100,000 credits on spread up and 50,000 on total up...
The match ends 48-13.
Spread -> Away score - Home score -> 48 - 13 = 35
Total -> Away Score + Home Score -> 48 + 13 = 61
This means that the spread is above the projected one (8), while the total is below the projected one (62) this means that I won the spread one and lose the total.
Payoffs for spread and total are always 1.40 so:
100,000 * 1.40 = 140,000 credits
Procedure
Betting has now an automatic system, which can be accessed through the "Odds" link in the main menu on the left hand.
With the automatic system, everyone will have a "tokens" pool that will be used into the system. If you bet on something, the tokens are removed from your pool. If you win a bet, your winning will be added to your pool.
You could always add or withdraw from your pool: send credits to Kordath Stryder, and the corresponding tokens will be added to the pool (1 credit = 1 token). When you want to withdraw credits, send a DM to him with this request and the credits will be transferred to you.
